Les Steckel

Les Steckel is a former NFL coach, U.S. Marine Corps colonel, and longtime leader of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. After beginning his coaching career in college football at the University of Colorado, Steckel spent more than two decades in the NFL, serving with teams including the Minnesota Vikings, San Francisco 49ers, New England Patriots, and Tennessee Titans. He was head coach of the Vikings in 1984 and later helped lead the Titans to Super Bowl XXXIV as offensive coordinator.

Steckel became the seventh president of FCA in 2005 after decades of involvement with the ministry. During his 12 years of leadership, FCA experienced major growth in staff, camps, and international outreach, while Steckel became known for his servant leadership and personal investment in coaches, athletes, and ministry staff across the country.
